Jay-Z Does It Big With Global Award
Rapper Jay-Z, who has been doing a lot for his people quietly, was recently honored in New York for his charitable work in Africa.
Jigga man has helped to bring clean water to poor parts of the continent, and was praised at the United Nations Global Leadership Awards Gala at the Waldorf-Astoria October 1, 2008 in New York City for his humanitarian work.
“Many charities, you close your eyes and cross your fingers and hope that the money gets to the people who really deserve it.” He told People.com. “But with this, I got to go to Africa, see the water pumps. I got to see the kids turn them on.”
That’s definitely a good look!
