Is It Time For Jay-Z To Man Up?

“As far as Foxy or Teairra Marì, these are people that I have given chances to. It’s understandable that they would be upset, but you got to look at it from my point of view as well. I gave Teairra Marì the same shot I gave Rihanna. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.”

“You know that stuff is going to happen, eventually it’s going to happen. What I’m happy about is, that no matter what people say, no one has ever said that I am dishonest or that I have taken one dime from them . . . I’ve never cheated anyone out of a dime. No one’s ever said that, right?”

Jay-Z recently addressed Foxy Brown’s and Teairra Marie’s claims that he wasn’t there for them by kicking them to the curb unceremoniously and not keeping in touch with them in the above quote.

I’m not going to front. I got tired of hearing those two chicks go on and on about how Jay-Z left them hanging. Let’s be honest for a minute. Teairra Marie was the first experiment by Jay-Z to create a black Britney Spears-type svengali chick. He failed but picked up the pieces with Rihanna. Foxy Brown, who is an ill femcee, did herself in with all the legal drama and personal dramas that she was facing. Not to mention that rap got tired of chicks rapping about the same thing: “Eat me out!” “Pay me!” You get the idea. If you don’t, see Trina’s current “career.”

While I admit that both ladies need to keep in consideration the fact that they both played a part in their careers’ demise, I’m wondering if Jay-Z should man up.

We know the industry is ruthless as hell. Rihanna didn’t have not a kind word to say about Teairra and the love, and by love I mean hate, was reciprocated. It’s a dog eat dog world out there. What did these chicks expect when the numbers weren’t coming in? Granted the numbers aren’t that lovely for Rihanna, but she appeals to white kids and that’s always worth its weight in dollars.

Jay-Z has started to look like an angel of death to the careers of certain rappers and singers that he’s brought into the spotlight and there’s no denying that. What happened to Freeway? Beanie Sigel? Chris and Neef? Anybody? If Rihanna hadn’t really delivered, she would’ve been in some bachelor rag bitching too.

I understand that he didn’t steal, embezzle, whatever from Foxy or Teairra, but they obviously were under the impression that he was looking out for them. That didn’t happen. Why would these women feel so betrayed if there wasn’t some element of truth to it? I know that he was looking out for himself by deflecting the question, but it does deserve a legitimate response. Why were they both thrown to the wayside without even a phone call from someone they considered a friend, mentor and father figure?

Jay probably uses money as toilet paper, so he probably doesn’t really care. At the same time he should because the music industry is fickle and finicky. He might need to cross those bridges, only to find that he burned them.

Um Rap didnt get tired of Foxy Brown,Foxy hasnt had the chance to get back on top of her still existing large fanbase across the world,Foxy has had way to much distractions that got in the way of her professional career as a musician.I remind you Foxys biggest holdback is one she maintains a struggle with today and that is her hearing which has improved yet she still wears assistant hearing.Foxy still has a career, its way to much attention on her for her name to die.Shes the only rap bitch you always hear or see about from the jet cover to her highly publicized release to her big XXL cover shoot.Shes always in the news so her fame is on the levels of Naomi,Britney,Lindsay and other controversial divas as opposed to there professions. All of these ladies are human and fuck up like the next human.Jay-z has history of alienating people which L.L and DMX(despite him totally ruining any future chance of a rap comeback he has ever had)have all said the same things about Tierra Marie and Foxy.Jay may one of the illest lyricist, yet it does not mean he is a considerate individual who is not self centered.Foxy to this day in most eyes remains one of the top female lyricist alongside Lauryn Hill,Lyte,Latifah,Jean Grae etc,she just needs to utilize what she has and after sitting in solitary confinement for 40 days and a regular cell for 8 months, she has finally learned a lesson and in due time will make a comeback. Is it too late? i honestly think it isnt, theres a strong thirst in the rapgame for one of these ladies Kim,Eve,Foxy,Trina to bring female rap back and Kim has obliterated her look and that lyrical ability is far from what it was in the 90’s.Eve is lazy as fuck.Trina fell off her game.Foxy is the only who has a clear shot chance, that lyrical talent and sex appeal is one many describe as longevity. Its always a profit for Foxy Brown images in music genres.

1st issue - all female rappers don’t just rap about getting eaten out and pay me…if that is the case then one can say all male rapper rap about f*ck mad b*tches and reppin their hood - that was a not so cool remark

2nd - i think jay is trying to man up, in his own way. the fact that he even responded to their statements shows that he is affected by their thoughts. it is likely eating him up inside, and that was his way of saying ‘my bad…sorry’…but if we learned anything over the year about jay z from his music is that you have to learn to live w/ regrets. he likely regrets the way he handled these two woman (and many others - i even think he mention Amil’s name in one of his verse…i think it was that song he did w/ usher…anyway) but he has moved on…and so should they….if you are that hot…move on…do you…the only way these ladies can get back at him is to succeed in their next ventures…time will tell

3rd point, to whom cheral who wrote that beyonce career has suffered since getting involved w/ jay z…get the hell out of here w/ that bull…you don’t know what you are talking about. Before jay beyonce’s signal was “work it out” which was “cute”…after jay “crazy in love” come on…you just can’t compare…
