Flo Rida’s “Low” has stood an unprecedented ninth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, continuing to stave off challenges from Chris Brown’s “With You” and Rihanna’s “Don’t Stop the Music,” which hold at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively.

Flo Rida is a native Floridian who toured as a teenager with 2 Live Crew’s Fresh Kid Ice and began popping up on high-profile mixtapes in 2006, most notably DJ Khaled’s We the Best — on “Bitch I’m from Dade County,” he appeared with the likes of Rick Ross, Trick Daddy, Trina, and Dre (of Cool & Dre). Signed to the Atlantic-distributed Poe Boy that year, he recorded Mail on Sunday, which was scheduled for release during early 2008. “Low,” featuring T-Pain, is the album’s lead single.
